The Lawrence A. Downs papers include a thesis with specification drawings, seven albums of news clippings documenting Downs's time working with the Central Illinois Railroad, and a scrapbook documenting his time at Purdue.

The collection consists of seven folders which contain publications by James Hoffman. Most of the material appears to be the original copy, so publication information is not available for many of the articles.

The Anne M. Lutz papers document Lutz' professional work in the field of genetics and her personal experiences while on a work trip to Belgium. Lutz was an early female scientist and genetics researcher who specialized in documenting chromosomes in plants. She was an expert in the area of chromosomes of Oenothera mutants and hybrids and has been credited with discoveries relating to the double chromosome theory. The collection includes diaries and publications written by Lutz.

The papers of John Wright are comprised of notebooks, financial records (one ledger and additional receipts), publications, and photographs which document John Wright's time as a student at Purdue University, and material from his career as a botanist and drug inspector for Eli Lilly and Company in Indianapolis, Indiana.
